This online programme was delivered to senior officers of the Army Command and Staff College, a remarkably diverse group that included officers of the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police and National Investigation Department, together with officers from Bangladesh, India, Kenya, Nigeria, Lebanon, Malaysia, Maldives, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom. The session explored self-awareness and self-management as the foundation of effective leadership at the highest levels.
The international and multi-agency composition of the group enriched the discussions, as participants shared perspectives from very different cultures, institutions and experiences. Delivered across two sessions, the programme guided participants through reflection on their values, emotions and habits and practical approaches to managing themselves in demanding roles. It demonstrated that the principles of self-understanding are universal, and it left participants with insights and tools they could carry back to their own services and countries.
